Dvora Krause, 6th grade teacher at Silberstein, was notified
in October 2005 that she has been awarded a national honor recognizing her
contribution to education. Ms. Krause received a plaque and will be listed in
the next edition of Who's Who Among American Teachers®.
Nominations for the award are made by one or more current or
former students of the teacher. Each student nominating the teacher must have
been listed by Who's Who Among American High School Students, Who's Who Among
American High School Students--Sports Edition, or The National Dean's
List. Students
listed in the directories are held in the highest regard by their communities
and peers.
The 8th edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers®
honors approximately 156,000 outstanding teachers in six separate regional
volumes. Teachers are listed alphabetically in the volume of the state where
they work. Complimentary copies are distributed to state superintendents of
public education and the ten largest public libraries in each state.
Ms. Krause joined the Silberstein faculty in August, 2002, and
has also taught 4th and 5th grades at the school. She has been in education since
1985, teaching in various elementary schools in Dallas ISD.
Teachers who have learned of the award have commented how
proud everyone is of this achievement for Ms. Krause. "Congratulations to
Dvora. This shows that what we do makes a difference in the lives of our
kids," stated Lee Gabor.
